Worst Mommy Awards: LifeTime Achievement

For most creative use of photography, not having to cook dinner and blatant manipulation of a spouse, the Lifetime Achievement Award for *Worst* (and still awesome) Mommy goes to: Anna.

I'm one of those annoying Moms that likes to plan everything and get out of the house at least once a day. I get a little stir crazy when we don't have anything on the schedule...so when my first little one came down with pink eye and the Pediatrician told us to stay home for a while I started to go crazy!

I think it was around day 5 that I threatened to cook the baby. I didn't have any groceries since I wasn't supposed to be taking the baby out...so I sent my husband an email

and this photo ------------------------------->

and wrote, "You need to stop by the store or grab some takeout on your way home, otherwise this is what we'll be having for dinner!"

He brought home Chinese. Food. Not Chinese babies. We don't *really* cook babies at our house.

  6. wow.

is it totally sad that I had three thoughts when I saw this:

    1. wow, her stove is clean!
    2. what brand is that pot?!? it is beautiful!
    3. don't boil the baby.

    in that order.

  8. I agree with Kristi - that's a VERY clean stove and a sparkly, pretty pot. Too bad it would never be used in my house :D.

  9. Loooooove this. Too cute. What a precious baby!! He doesn't look like he's suffering too much! I would go crazy, too, being in the house for that long!

  10. Kristi - same thoughts exactly. Clean kitchen, clean pot, clean baby (and terribly cute) - WTH? Clearly this is a mom in need of an intervention with a T-box.

  12. Anna, Lifetime Achievement Award-Winning Worst MommyJuly 30, 2010 at 10:46 PM

Thanks for the comments, and for not reporting me to child protective services.

I hope you understand that my stove was only clean because I knew my Mom would see these pictures. We did an even funnier photo shoot in the crock pot...but there were too many phone cords and bills in the background. That's how you choose photos, right? You pick the one that *doesn't* have the messy pile of stuff behind the baby!

Also, I'm loving the notoriety. You know how actresses get addressed as "Emmy Winner(enter name here)"? Do you think I could get people to refer to me as "Lifetime Achievement Award-Winning Worst Mommy"? Like in line at the DMV or the bank...is that too much to ask?

  14. Absolutely perfect. And yes, definitely in need of a T-box intervention. Clean stove, clean pot AND clean baby? Jeez, Worst Mom Ever? That's 3 cleans in one picture.

  16. No seriously, what kind of pot is that? I'm shopping for a new set.

Your son is gorgeous and seems oddly comfortable in that pot...makes me think that maybe it's not his first time sitting there!
