And, right after we were done, something *magical* happened...we. met. THE. FONZ.
Kate totally geeked out. Because she loves the Fonz like she loves Barry Manilow...she gasped and said, "OhmyGod, I love you!" and then he said, "And I love your shoes!" and then she almost fell down. [Editor's Note: ARGH! When we were leaving, Kate was all busy on her Precious and didn't. see. the. stairs. and she soooo almost fell down in front of strangers AND a construction crew and she looked totally stupid and it was hilarious. -Lydia] [Editor's Note: The point is, I completely didn't fall down even though I was in heels and I made it look awesome. Hooker. - Kate] And then he took a picture with us and he sorta got to second base with Kate when he hugged her.
We are sooooooo the new Laverne and Shirley...
Fonzie THEN:
Fonzie NOW:
WOOT!
Best. Day. Ever...

He is a silver fox. Woot to 2nd base and the teevee.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Lydia, I love you more and more and I may have to jack Kate for those shoes. I'm giving Moon Sand out to every child whose parents I don't really care for this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THE 'L' FOR LYDIA!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou both did such a great job! I have to say, though, I am not impressed with the hosts of the show. They seemed a little clueless about anything having to do with kids. Maybe you guys should host that sbow.... Yesss!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Kate - I loved your shoes, and Lydia - I loved your necklace.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBefore I was just jealous of you. Now I want to BE you. Sit on it.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You guys both look so great and did so well! Was there any t-box or valium involved?
ReplyDeleteWe totally need a RFML tv show.
I totally heart you guys! Your hair looks great! Looks like the home dye worked!! (I use Nutriesse w/the avocado oil in it - wonderful!)
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, the caption under the new laverne & shirley (which I LOVED to watch growing up!) should say "Hot cooking girls who really work it!" bwa ha ha !
AAAAAA! Nice pic. Great job on your interview. Now I need to return some Christmas gifts.....Berlinder..
ReplyDeleteOK, the whole interview was 12 kinds of awesome, but my favorite part? Was that Lydia said "Penal". Holy schmidt I almost peed. But I'm like a 12-year-old that way.
ReplyDeleteSanta delivered the Fonz! Way, way better than Squiggy and Lenny! Or maybe that's next....?
ReplyDeleteYou both were GREAT! What was better...the "Pull My Finger Truck" or "Tramp Stamp Barbie?"
ReplyDeleteLydia~ you crack me up!
Kate~ those shoes are fierce!
I'm always referencing Lady Macbeth. Let's use this as an opportunity to note that we haven't completely lost our minds because we can reference Shakespeare when applicable.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cute. I'm sure that Mattel will not be seeking a product endorsement from you anytime soon. But that's why we love you.
You gals aced it!! What a fun segment! You should do your own show. I love the L for Lydia, your necklace and Kate's shoes - WOOT!!! or AAAAA as fonzy used to say!
ReplyDeleteI agree, you guys as hosts, YESSER! good job you guys!!
ReplyDeleteVery awesome interview ladies! Love love love "Tramp Stamp Barbie" & the Lady MacBeth reference! Bwah hahahahaha! Lydia, don't feel bad for not getting your list done yet, I'm still working on mine too. Kate, awesome shoes (even though I'm a clog or flats gal myself) & Lydia, beautiful necklace!
ReplyDeleteSo fun!!!! And meeting The Fonz!! Icing on the cake!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG... my daughter just said "Who's the Fonz?" I think I have to disown her now.
ReplyDeleteThis whole time I had never thought to look pictures of you guys up! LOL! You guys are awesome! This post.. It was like meeting a secret pen pal... cept way cooler.
ReplyDeleteLOL I loved it!!!!! You two are awesome! I totally agree with the other ladies...those two interviewing you Do.Not.Have.Kids. At all. ha! I loved the mention of the zhu zhu pet meets glitterizer! HA HA HA Snorted coffee and think I peed a little. That would totally happen in my house! Thanks for the visual. You guys ROCK...and I hope you get your own talk show, because I'd be like a big fan!!!! Thanks AGAIN for your amazingness. Both of you! And, Lydia...the hair was awesome.
ReplyDeleteACK! my four year old totally watched that and said "oh i want that" to several of the toys you talked about...which made me say that "kate and lydia say no, sorry honey!"
ReplyDeleteHoly CATS, the hamster+glitterizer was hilarious. ANd Lady McBeth? You +_totally_+ bewildered the two interviewers. They were all, "Wait. I thought it was Lady Gaga. Are they cousins?"

LMAO.....y'all are so funny. "Let's play attack Tora Bora..." That had me rolling. Love you guys SO. MUCH.
ReplyDeleteI wish you were on my teevee but I suppose youtube will work too.
ReplyDeleteBTW - the Nice N Jersey turned out pretty well!
Like Surviving..., I am delighted to see my secret pen pals in action! You both are wonderfully smart and funny and realistic, and appropriately kind. I appreciate your acerbic wit without being "mean girls."
ReplyDeleteOMG THE FONZ!!!! Awesome, ladies. You need your own show.
ReplyDeleteOne thing i don't understand: does the truck fart!?
FANTASTIC. You guys. The Fonz. The shoes. The necklace. The funny. All fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Lydia? You LOOK fantastic!!! You are almost inspiring me to enter the Shred zone myself.
Did I miss something? Why are they calling you Julie and Kristin?? Oh, and you ladies look fabulous, as always!!
ReplyDeleteI had not seen that Glitter barbie before. Hilarious! You can call that Herpes Barbie, since glitter is the herpes of craft supplies :-) xoxo, Lisa
ReplyDeleteYay for you! You look great! And don't you love The Fonz? I met him last year. He gave me a kiss and said I was well put together. I'm not sure what he meant by that, but I'm totally taking it the *wrong* way! And isn't he just the sweetest guy?? But you were smart and got a pic...I was too bowled over although I had a camera in my hand!
ReplyDeleteLOVED the segment. You guys are awesome. Sorry I'm late to the party here. I just jumped back to watch.
ReplyDeleteGotta say, I'm going to drizzle a bit on the Fonz parade. The Fonz was mean to me when I was a kid. Yes. The cast of Happy Days came to the military hospital where my father worked when we lived overseas. It was a special appearance just to meet and greet and sign autographs. My brother and I were on Cloud Nine. I was 8 and he was 11 and Happy Days was still on TV at the time. Well, we went around and got warm receptions from everyone...Richie, Mr. C, Potsie, Ralph, Joanie, everyone. We were nervous about approaching the coolest guy we'd ever seen, but we finally screwed up the courage (with our parents' help as they reminded us that he was here to sign autographs). We went up to him and asked him for his autograph and he, very gruffly, told us he was too busy. Yeah, the Fonz told us, two nervous little kids, to get lost.
It was the day I went from loving to hating The Fonz. Jerk.
(almost 30 years later, I should be over this, right? LOL)
