A couple of years ago, I posted a graphic about how I believe that Mother's Day gifts are largely misunderstood. I decided to share it again this year.
For Mother's Day, I don't want carnations or stuff from a jewelry store at the mall. I really just want an honest, heartfelt acknowledgement from someone who gets how hard it is to be a mom.
And that's where Mother's Day is broken. Because the only people who really get it are other moms. And we expect kids and husbands and boyfriends to get it and often they don't. Not because they're bad - they're awesome! It's because of the evil Mother's Day propaganda machines. This table explains it in detail. If you have trouble viewing the image - just click to enlarge.
Let's take this all a step further. Yes, unloading the dishwasher is a pain in the ass. But how lucky am I that I have a dishwasher? Let's help out some moms in need this Mother's Day. Click here to find out about our 3rd annual project to help moms on Mother's Day.
