The Island of Misnamed Toys (again)

I don't know if you guys heard about this (and I honestly can't remember if I put this on Facebook or not) but I was actually in Parents Magazine last month (in the June edition). Like a real life grown up. It was a whole, entire page and there was a picture of me surrounded by laundry that needed folding. It was pretty awesome. Check it out:

So, they asked me if I had any videos that I could share with them and I was like: "YESSER, mofos. And it's totally inappropriate." To their credit (they are wildly cool people over there) they loved it. In fact, they were like: "We published your post where you made a joke about LUBE. This video is great."

And I fell slightly in love with them.

Then they asked if I would change the song (as the one I originally chose was about a school shooting because I am a moron and didn't understand what I was doing until it was already done). So I was like - "Yesser, let me get right on that." Then after trying out about a hundred songs I just asked Mini which one I should use for a video about toys she had named and she was like: "Eau. Dat's easy. Just use the hello song." And it was completely perfect in every way because it also happens to be one of her all-time favorite songs.

So, here it again and I hope you guys like it. If you're new here - this is pretty much everything you need to know about my youngest kid. She is banana sandwich and I love that about her.

  7. Okay, I have watched this video at least 2 dozen times. I show it to everyone who has a child, or who has ever met a child. And yet after viewing again today I again find myself needing a change of pants. I have my own little cupcake baked by the devil, she is 23 years old now and I will never some of the wild things she said.

  8. Loved crack rabbit too. My daughter had a hearing problem at that age & just made up a whole language based on what she "thought" she heard. It was so freaking hilarious, we still use some of them & she's now almost 17. Enjoy!! It goes FAST

  10. My daughter couldn't say Strawberry Shortcake for the longest time. She said Strawberry Whorecake. Nice....we still call her that. It's hilarious, until you get the Maude face from some uptight mom who overhears the reference. But even that's funny too I guess.

  14. Oh how I love this! And I'm glad my little lady isn't the only one with the knack for inappropriate naming of toys.

  15. Before I watched the video, I was going to say something like "You're lucky she gives her toys names at all. Everything in my house is called 'guy' or occasionally 'lady.'" But now that I've watched the video... Yeah, I think I'm good with no names.

  16. I've had this video in my youtube favorites list since you first posted it. In fact, I bought the original song on itunes after hearing it while watching Nutsak and Lionsak. I think of them whenever I hear it. :) (Too bad the song's subject matter isn't more innocuous. It's a good tune.)
